AMBASSADOR AWARD FROM THE EMBASSY OF JAPAN TO FUAT TOSYALI

Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, honored with the Ambassador Award by the Embassy of Japan. Fuat Tosyalı received the award from the Ambassador of Japan to Turkey Katsumata Takahiko and said: "I believe that our long-standing relationship with our Japanese friends, which started as a business partnership and turned into a friendship based on mutual trust, will make significant contributions to the strengthening of social, economic and cultural relations between the two countries, and that our story will set a good example for the successful companies of Japan and Turkey and encourage them for new business partnerships.

Turkey's global steel producer, Tosyalı, continues to attract attention with its successful business partnerships as one of the world's leading steel manufacturers, boasting nearly 40 facilities and 15,000 employees across three continents.

For years, Tosyalı has been strengthening its ability to conduct global business through successful partnerships with foreign companies such as Japanese Toyo Kohan and American Harsco, conducting successful partnerships in three separate facilities.

Since 2017, Tosyalı's partnership with the Japanese company Toyo Kohan under the Tosyalı Toyo umbrella has been contributing to the development of economic relations between the two countries.

As a reflection of this successful collaboration, Tosyalı Holding Chairman Fuat Tosyalı was honored with the Ambassador Award by the Embassy of Japan. The award ceremony, attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Ambassador of Japan to Turkey Katsumata Takahiko, ambassadors of Belgium and Algeria, Tosyalı Holding Chairman Fuat Tosyalı, and employees of the Embassy of Japan, was held for this purpose. 

During the ceremony, Turkey's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mehmet Kemal Bozay, delivered a speech and said that, “This award is a pleasing and very important milestone in terms of showing that our relations with Japan, which we raised to the level of strategic partnership in 2013, continue to deepen in every field. Japan is a strong trading partner in Asia and the Pacific Region. It is our common goal to develop this partnership, diversify our areas of cooperation and increase mutual investments, which constitute an important aspect of our economic cooperation. We are pleased with the contributions of our business people, especially Mr. Fuat Tosyalı, to these goals and efforts. Mr. Tosyalı has become a proud brand of Turkey in the iron and steel industry as a businessman doing business in 3 important continents, exporting to more than 100 countries and employing thousands of people. As diplomats, we owe a great debt of gratitude to business people and companies like Mr. Tosyalı, who have raised Turkey's profile globally through employment and investment economies. In particular, Mr. Tosyalı will play a pioneering role in green steel production, which will pave the way for Turkey globally. I believe it is also very meaningful that this award coincides with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Turkey diplomatic relations. I think it is also very meaningful in terms of timing that Mr. Tosyalı's successful work in this context and the fact that he has brought us together on the occasion of the Ambassador Award. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Mr. Fuat Tosyalı success for all his work that will carry Turkey forward and for the investments he will make globally in all other regions, including Japan."

Fuat Tosyalı receiving the Ambassador Award from Japan's Ambassador to Turkey, Katsumata Takahiko also delivered a speech and said that, "As Tosyalı, we have been conducting a warm, sincere and heartfelt relationship with our Japanese friends based on trust, beyond a long and successful business partnership with your Toyo Kohan company under the roof of Tosyalı Toyo. We have made great investments and works together until today, we have never once offended each other, we have always worked to achieve good things together in love, respect and most importantly trust. As a result of this mutual respect and trust, I am sure that Tosyalı Toyo, which is the largest Japanese investment in Turkey as of today, and where I am also the Chairman of the Board of Directors, will continue to be one of the most important players not only in our countries but also in the world steel ecosystem. I believe that our long-standing relationship with our Japanese friends, which started as a business partnership and turned into a friendship based on mutual trust, will make significant contributions to the strengthening of social, economic and cultural relations between the two countries, and our story will set a good example for the successful companies of Japan and Turkey, and encourage them for new business partnerships. Japanese Ambassador to Turkey Katsumata Takahiko delivered a speech at the ceremony and said that, “The Government of Japan has decided to present Mr. Fuat Tosyalı with the Ambassador Award in recognition of his many years of contributions to Turkey-Japan cooperation. We are honored to hold this ceremony in this memorable year, which marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Turkey diplomatic relations. The success of Tosyalı Toyo contributes to the relations between the two countries and this has been made possible by the passion and efforts of Mr. Fuat Tosyalı. Also under the leadership of Mr. Fuat Tosyalı, Tosyalı Toyo is actively involved in 'green steel' projects to contribute to the decarbonization goal of the international community by minimizing emissions in the steelmaking process. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. Fuat Tosyalı for his tremendous contribution as Ambassador of Japan to Turkey."

Tosyalı Toyo produces Turkey's first advanced technology value-added flat steel

Operating in an area of 500,000 square meters in Osmaniye Organized Industrial Zone, Tosyalı Toyo produces Turkey's first advanced technology and high value-added flat steel. With an annual rolling capacity of 1.2 million tons, Tosyalı Toyo's product range includes tinplate, galvanized, painted, cold-rolled, acid-oiled hot rolled coil. Tosyalı Toyo is the sole producer in Turkey that can achieve a width of 1,300 mm and a thickness of 0.12 mm in tinplate products, and 0.20 mm in other cold-rolled iron and steel products. Exporting to nearly 80 countries since its establishment, Tosyalı Toyo offers advanced technology steel to some of today's most important sectors such as automotive, construction, food packaging, and heating-cooling-ventilation.
