Tosyalı Demir Çelik İskenderun Plant, valued at 2.5 billion dollars and known as the most compact plant not only in Turkiye but in the world, has a flat steel capacity of 4 million tons on an area of 450,000 square meters. The plant, which can carry out production usually done in 1-1.5 million square meters in a much more compact area, is a global exemplary case in terms of design engineering. The integrated plant, which started production in 2023, offers 500 different products of varying quality and sizes.
Sheet metal in grades ranging from S235 to X100, coil in widths of 1650 mm and thicknesses of 1 to 25 mm and weights of up to 40 tons, ultra-low carbon steels with a new generation rolling system, deep drawing steels known as IF steels, canned cola steels, S700 MC series used in bridges and mobile construction equipment and X100 grade natural gas pipe steels for the first time in Turkiye are just a few of these products.
The plant, which can perform the world's fastest slab casting with a casting speed of 2.6 meters per minute, stands out in global competition with its Industry 4.0 compatibility, use of the most advanced technologies and green steel production capability. The plant is the first user in Turkiye of Quantum Furnace technology, which provides lower electrical energy consumption.
In addition, the rolling mill facility within Tosyalı Demir Çelik started production in 1994, and angle iron was added to the production matrices in 1995. With the investment made in 2001, the 2nd Rolling Mill facility was established and its current capacity has doubled. And IPN-UPN-IPE profile has also been added to the product group. İskenderun Tosyalı Demir Çelik rolling mill facilities were established on a total area of 17,667 m2, of which 13,000 m2 is closed. Our Tosyalı Demir Çelik facility has an annual production capacity of 550,000 tons.
The following standard and special sizes are produced in the following groups in Tosyalı Demir Çelik facilities:
From 30 mm to 120 mm / 2.8 mm to 13 mm wall thickness in the angle iron group,
From 50 mm to 160 mm in the UPN profile group,
From 80 mm to 160 mm in the IPN profile group,
From 80 mm to 160 mm in the IPE profile group.
These materials are used especially in energy transmission line, as well as all steel constructions, machinery manufacturing industries, and various structures.
In addition, there is a wire rod facility with a capacity of 600,000 tons/year in Iskenderun facilities, which started operating in 2023 and has a crude steel capacity of 4 million tons/year, within Tosyalı Demir Çelik. Thanks to this additional facility, our long product range of Tosyalı Demir Çelik has further expanded and the consolidated wire rod capacity of Tosyalı's companies operating in Türkiye has reached 1.3 million tons.
