TOSYALI BUSINESS PARTNERS MET IN ANTAKYA
At the Antakya Museum Hotel, hundreds of business partners from Turkey and abroad were gathered by Tosyalı Holding. The business partners had a tour of Tosyalı Holding's Sarıseki Facility, which is located in the İskenderun 2nd Organised Industrial Zone (OIZ), prior to the Tosyalı Business Partners Meeting, which was held under the theme "Tomorrow of Green Steel, Investment of the Future". "Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant, Turkey's largest industrial investment in progress, will contribute to the import substitution of approximately 4 million tonnes of flat steel with its two giant, quantum technology steel mills and two ports," stated Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, during his speech at the Tosyalı Business Partners Meeting. As Tosyalı Holding, we will reach a production volume of 10 million tonnes when we commission this $2.5 billion investment in 2023. More significantly, this facility will be the hub of green steel in Turkey thanks to the advanced technology we employ here and the investments we've made in sustainability."
Hundreds of foreign and Turkish business partners attended the Tosyalı Business Partners Meeting, which was organized by Turkey's largest iron and steel producer, Tosyalı Holding, on December 16–18, 2022, at the Antakya Museum Hotel.
The most recent information about Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Facility, one of the most significant investments in its sector not only in Turkey but globally, was shared with business partners during the meeting held under the theme "Tomorrow of Green Steel, Investment of the Future." Many other investments made by Tosyalı Holding during 2022 were also included.
Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of Tosyalı Holding: "With Turkey's largest industrial investment, we will contribute to the import substitution of 4 million tonnes of flat steel."
Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, stated at the Tosyalı Business Partners Meeting: "We will concentrate on the production of qualified steel, especially flat steel, at the Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant, Turkey's largest industrial investment. With a 4 million-ton production capacity on 450,000 square meters, this facility will be the smallest in the world as well as Turkey. We have employed Quantum Arc furnaces in this facility, which will use the most cutting-edge technologies and will put us ahead in the global competition in accordance with Industry 4.0. These furnaces provide lower electrical energy consumption. We, Tosyalı, will be the first people in Turkey to use this technology. The Sarıseki Plant, with its two massive steel mills using quantum technology and two ports, will help replace about 4 million tonnes of flat steel that are currently imported. It is going to be one of Turkey's leading export and value-added production facilities. After this $2.5 billion investment is put into action in 2023, Tosyalı Holding will be able to produce 10 million tonnes of goods. We will create additional jobs for 1500 people while also significantly boosting the region's economic revival."
Turkey's hub for green steel will be Sarıseki.
According to Fuat Tosyalı, the Sarıseki investment will not only greatly boost Tosyalı Holding's production capacity but also give it a competitive edge with its sustainability-focused investments at a time when the EU Green Deal will impose carbon taxes: "With this facility, we will surpass capacity and accomplish a very significant success. This facility will serve as Turkey's hub for green steel thanks to the advanced technology we employ here and the investments we've made in sustainability. Our facility will use 15% less natural gas and 30% less electrical energy thanks to the technologies we plan to implement. Our carbon footprint will be 20% lower than that of conventional arc furnaces and 70% lower than that of blast furnaces because of the increased use of renewable energy sources and more effective scrap utilization. These consumptions will be significantly reduced thanks to the additional investments we will make in clean and renewable energy sources like hydrogen and solar power. With the initiative we have started in all of our facilities, Tosyalı will have the largest rooftop solar power plant (SPP) in the world when it reaches 215 MW installed power. Our combined long-term goal for renewable energy as Tosyalı is 2 G Watt installed power. Our long-term goal is to establish a production structure that maximizes our level of self-sufficiency while utilizing no fossil fuels. With the investments we have made, Tosyalı will become the industry leader in the production of green steel, all the while helping to transform our business partners' industries and raising the standards, pay, and value of their labor."
With this investment, Tosyalı will become a significant player in the automotive and white goods sectors.
With more coils produced, Tosyalı Holding will grow into a significant player in industries like automotive and white goods. With this investment, Tosyalı Holding will be able to offer an even wider range of wire rod products, thanks to a facility that can produce 650,000 tonnes of wire rod. With a total capacity of 1.3 million tonnes for wire rod production, Tosyalı will be the biggest wire rod manufacturer in Turkey.
