ANTAKYA CIVILIZATIONS CHOIR CONTINUES ITS CONCERTS UNDER THE SPONSORSHIP OF TOSYALI HOLDING IN ISTANBUL!
Under the sponsorship of Tosyalı Holding, the Antakya Civilizations Choir—which lost seven members in the massive earthquake—continues its concert tour, starting on September 4 in Istanbul's Beylikdüzü and continuing to Istanbul's Kuruçeşme, September 5, Kuşadası, September 8, and Izmir, September 10.
The Antakya Civilizations Choir, which suffered seven fatalities in the devastating earthquake that struck our nation on February 6, 2023, is still using its concerts to mend its scars.
With the help of others, the Antakya Civilizations Choir was able to rise again after a period in which nearly every member of the choir lost first-degree relatives, many members' homes and places of employment were destroyed, the association building where the choir was housed was destroyed, and all of their possessions—including costumes and musical instruments—were left behind in the debris.
With its distinctive music, the Antakya Civilizations Choir continues to open doors to a magical world for art lovers, thanks to the sponsorship of Tosyalı Holding. The choir will continue to perform throughout Turkey until the end of this year.
Art enthusiasts were very interested in the concert that the Antakya Civilizations Choir gave in Istanbul Beylikdüzü as part of their Turkey tour, which saw the choir rise once more and become stronger.
Yılmaz Özfırat, the conductor of the Antakya Civilizations Choir, said that the group received a lot of help in rebuilding their community after being destroyed. He said, "Mr. Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, who is with us tonight, is one of these supports. We are really grateful to Mr. Fuat Tosyalı for coming here and not breaking our hearts, as he has been a salve to our wounds since the first day. He even put on his boots and helped in the wrecks."
Established in 2008 by citizens of the Republic of Turkey representing six distinct civilizations and three Abrahamic religions on a volunteer basis, the Antakya Civilizations Choir Association has performed with its newly formed choir in almost 2000 concerts both domestically and overseas.
The Antakya Civilizations Choir Association was considered deserving of numerous honors in 2012, after being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and winning the Peace and Brotherhood award twice.
The Choir continues to perform its works for a world in which respect for truth and love, which are universal values, prevail in the world with music, a universal language based on Antakya, where different civilizations live in harmony and peace. The Choir's mission is to support Turkey with all of its values and to serve world peace.
The choir's tour of Turkey will take it to Kuşadası on September 8 and Izmir on September 10, where it will meet art enthusiasts after the September 5 Kuruçeşme concert in Istanbul.
