THE TOSYALI DEMİR ÇELİK SARISEKI PLANT, TURKEY'S LARGEST INDUSTRIAL INVESTMENT, IS COUNTING DOWN

One of its two Quantum Furnaces, the largest industrial investment in Turkey, has begun test production at Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant. The first application of Quantum Furnace technology in Turkey will be the Sarıseki Plant, which will eliminate Turkey's 4 million tons of imports of flat steel and reduce electrical energy consumption and carbon emissions.

As Turkey's leading global steel producer, Tosyalı Holding, with almost 40 facilities and 15,000 employees across three continents, keeps expanding, developing, and investing in new facilities that add value.

With its investments focused on sustainability, Tosyalı Holding, one of the most renowned and emulated companies globally, has begun the last stage of its investment in Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant, which will manufacture certified green steel in the İskenderun 2nd Organized Industrial Zone (OSB). Test production has begun in one of Sarıseki Plant's two quantum furnaces.

Chairman of Tosyalı Holding Fuat Tosyalı stated, "Our 2.5 billion dollar Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant investment has become a facility where we use the most advanced technologies and will put us ahead in global competition in Industry 4.0 compliance." The plant will produce value-added products with a focus on sustainability. With the construction of this facility, Tosyalı became Turkey's first user of the less energy-intensive Quantum Furnace technology. Our facility will have a carbon footprint that is 20% less than that of conventional arc furnaces and 70% less than that of blast furnaces thanks to our investments in sustainability. Through this investment, Turkey will no longer need to import 4 million tons of flat steel, providing an excellent example of value-added production that is essential to the growth and development of our nation."

Tosyalı Holding is continuing its fourth stage investments in Tosyalı Algérie, Algeria's largest industrial enterprise and exporter in non-hydrocarbon sectors, in addition to Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Facility, Turkey's largest industrial investment. Tosyalı is constructing a state-of-the-art DRI plant in Algeria as part of this investment, along with a flat steel plant that can produce four million tons of steel annually directly in front of it. After all investments in Algeria are finished, Tosyalı Algerie will rank among the most significant and vital iron and steel production hubs in the world, not just in the Mediterranean and Africa. Tosyalı Holding is making investments in Turkey, Algeria, Senegal, and Angola in order to achieve its goal of reaching a 15 million tons capacity.
