TOSYALI HOLDING RISES FIVE PLACES IN THE WORLD STEEL MANUFACTURERS RANKING

Based on data released by the World Steel Association, Tosyalı Holding jumped five spots to rank 77th in the world in 2022 for crude steel production. With the Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant having just commenced its first production, the company will increase its production capacity to 10 million tonnes, eliminating Turkey's 4 million tonnes of imports of flat steel. Tosyalı is making significant progress towards its objective of ranking among the world's top 50 producers of steel.

With almost 40 facilities across three continents and roughly 15,000 employees, Turkey's leading global steel producer, Tosyalı Holding, is still making waves in the global steel industry.

With the steps it has taken to make sustainability the top priority, Tosyalı Holding is well on its way to becoming one of the world's leading companies in qualified steel production. Tosyalı maintains its consistent ascent in global steel production thanks to its cutting-edge green steel products created through R&D, technology, and innovation; new facility investments that have a global impact; highly skilled human resources; and a robust capital structure.

During the post-pandemic balancing process in the global steel industry in 2022, Tosyalı Holding's production power allowed it to emerge as one of the most remarkable groups globally. The World Steel Association releases a special publication every year with the world crude steel production figures for 2022. Tosyalı Holding jumped five places from 2021 to 2022, ranking 77th in the world, with its crude steel production reaching 4.71 million tonnes.

Rank in the top 50 globally with newly qualified steel investments as the goal.

"As the world enters an era of green transformation with the Paris Climate Agreement and the EU Green Deal, the steel industry assumes a great responsibility as one of the leading players in this process," stated Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, "the company continues to grow globally with its investments in qualified steel production in line with its sustainability-focused business strategy." For the next five years, Tosyalı Holding has made sustainability a priority. Within this framework, we are investing heavily in technology, innovation, the circular economy, and the utilization of renewable energy sources like hydrogen and solar power. We continue to grow not only our capacity but, more importantly, our qualified steel production with high added value, with these investments that will position us as one of the world's top producers of green steel. Tosyalı Holding has remained strong in this process by using the investments we have made thus far to meet the demand for qualified steel, even though 2022 is a challenging year for global steel producers. The most tangible evidence of this is the fact that we have moved up five spots in the world rankings for crude steel production. After the completion of the Tosyalı Algérie 4th stage investment and the Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Facility, we will be able to further increase our qualified steel production capacity and achieve our goal of ranking among the top 50 companies worldwide."

With global investments, a target capacity of 15 million tonnes

Operating from its plants in Osmaniye and İskenderun, Turkey, and Tosyalı Algerie, Oran, Algeria, Tosyalı Holding conducts business globally. Tosyalı Holding has increased its investments in qualified steel production, as exports account for nearly 40% of its total sales revenues. Turkey will no longer import 4 million tonnes of flat steel thanks to the Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant, one of the country's biggest industrial investments, which has just begun production. In addition to being a center for the production of green steel, this facility will serve as an example for value-added exports from Turkey. Within the framework of the fourth stage investments in Tosyalı Algeria, Tosyalı Holding is also constructing a flat steel plant with a production capacity of 4 million tonnes/year in front of it and a new DRI plant with the most advanced technology. Tosyalı Algerie will rank among the most significant and vital iron and steel production hubs in the world, the Mediterranean, and Africa once all investments in the country have been made. With its investments in Turkey, Algeria, Senegal, and Angola, Tosyalı Holding hopes to achieve an annual steel production capacity of 15 million tonnes in the coming years.
